Light micrograph of granulation tissue, which forms in the body when an inflammatory process has been occurring for about a week or few week's time. The granulation tissue consists of inflammatory cells (small blue dots) admixed with myxoid matrix (light blue diagonal strands) and proliferating small blood vessels containing red blood cells (bright red).
