Light micrograph of the mesothelial surface of a portion of fibrous connective tissue (pink material taking up most of the image). The mesothelium is a thin layer made up of mesothelial cells. The mesothelial cell nuclei (small dark blue dots) are seen at the intersection of the pink fibres and empty space (white at top of image). Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section.
