On February 9, the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) held its party convention in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, and adopted its activity policy for fiscal 2014. Banri Kaieda, the president of the DPJ, made clear his party's confrontational stance toward the Abe administration and expressed his intention to do his utmost to rebuild the party's flagging fortunes ahead of next spring's local elections in the afternoon of February 9, 2014, in Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture.
