Shigeru Ban, Pritzker Prize Winner Talks about the joy of receiving the award
Tokyo, Japan - The winner of the "Pritzker Architecture Prize" the Japanese architect Shigeru Ban speaks about his job and explains what it means to him to win the prize this year at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan (FCCJ) on April 2, 2014. Ban also designed recyclable shelters and community centers for those displaced by war and natural disasters, such as the disasters of Kobe Earthquake in 1995 and Super Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines last year. The prize is also called the "Nobel Prize of architecture" and is considered one of the world's premier architecture prize. Ban is the 7th Japanese architect after Toyo Ito who won the last year.
