Central American owl (Tyto nigricollis)
This is Siskiyou, a Northern spotted owl (Strix occidentalis occidentalis), in captivity at the zoo. Thought to be a male, the bird was found with a broken wing in 1992 in the Falls Creek area of the Willamette National Forest. It was later necessary to remove a large portion of his wing, so he is now unreleasable.
