A "Bridge" to the Tokyo Olympics
Installation work on the Sumida River
May 8th, 2014, Tokyo, Japan: New 120 meters long bridge built on Sumida river in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. A new 120-meters-long and 48-meters-wide bridge was placed on Sumida river, near the Tsukiji fish market, on May 8th 2014, as part of the construction works for 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The bridge was put into place by using a huge crane. The assembling work started early morning and took around five hours. Even if the construction works has been completed on May 8th 2014, the 2600 tons bridge will be opened to the public only from 2016. The name of the bridge has not been decided yet.
