An Osaka City employee digs up watermelons to transplant from the median strip of Midosuji Avenue. Photo taken October 16, 2023, in Kita Ward, Osaka City. The same month, the Osaka edition of "Donegai Watermelon: Saraba Midosuji" was published on October 17, 2023.
The city decided to transplant the watermelons because they were found growing wild on Midosuji and, if left unattended, would be at risk of being vandalized and causing accidents to onlookers.
