Major Earthquake of Magnitude 7 in Noto District, Uchinada Town, Ishikawa Prefecture
The town of Uchinada in Ishikawa Prefecture, adjacent to Kanazawa City, was severely damaged by liquefaction. The land was uplifted, and a large fault line was formed in the schoolyard of the town's Nishiaraya Elementary School. A male resident said, "The dune land was shaken by the earthquake, liquefied, and then collided with a little hard land, causing the land to rise. I'm worried about how long it will take to restore the area.
