Adult and juvenile African penguins
Adult and juvenile African penguins (Spheniscus demersus) walking back to the sea among typical penguin footprints. This species has distinctive pink glands above its eyes that become pinker as the penguin gets hotter. It also has a black stripe and a pattern of unique black spots on its chest. Juveniles do not possess the bold markings of the adult, but instead have coats that vary from greyish-blue to brown.
