Genji fireflies and river boats on the Shimanto River
The Shimanto River, which flows through the western part of Kochi Prefecture, has long been called the last clear river in Japan. This photo was taken on the downstream side of the Takase Chinkage Bridge. A sunken bridge is a bridge without parapets that is submerged under the water to prevent it from being washed away in times of heavy water. Trails of river fishermen's boats and Genji fireflies flying on the river surface from the opposite bank toward the camera side.
