The Statue of Peace, Mar 20, 2024 : The Comfort Women Statue or the Statue of Peace symbolizing Korean Comfort Women or sex slaves by Japanese military during the Second World War, is seen barricaded by the police as a pro-Japanese right-wing civic group stages a protest demanding removal of the statue in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul, South Korea. Another group of activists held "Wednesday Rally" near the embassy to call for Japanese government's official apology and compensation for the victims of the Japanese military's sexual slavery during the World War II.
