Wednesday anti-Japan rally near the Japanese embassy in Seoul
Wednesday anti-Japan rally, Mar 20, 2024 : Buddhist nuns and monks attend weekly anti-Japanese government rally near the Japanese embassy in Seoul, South Korea. The weekly rally held on Wednesday is to ask for Japanese government's official apology and reparation for the victims of the Japanese military's sexual slavery during the World War II. According to local media, historians say up to 200,000 women, mostly Koreans, were forced into sexual slavery in front-line Japanese brothels during the war when the Korean Peninsula was a Japanese colony. The sex slaves were so-called comfort women. Pickets read,"Official Apology! Legal Reparation!". (Photo by Lee Jae-Won/AFLO)
