Statue of Kazutoyo Yamauchi
Kochi Castle, Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture, was built in 1601 by Kazutoyo Yamauchi, who inherited 240,000 koku of land in Tosa, and has a history of over 400 years. The buildings of the Honmaru Castle, including the Honmaru Goten, West Tamon Yagura (tower), and Otemon Gate, are almost completely preserved.
