Geminid meteor and milky way
A Geminid meteor during the 2023 shower and the winter milky way. This annual meteor shower occurs in December and is caused by debris from an asteroid named 3200 Phaeton. During the shower, the meteors enter the atmosphere at around 22 kilometres per second, burning up in the process.
