Liquid hydrogen refuelling facility, composite image
Composite image of a liquid hydrogen refuelling facility. Airbus and ArianeGroup are working together to build the first liquid hydrogen refuelling facility for ZEROe aircraft at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport airport in France. The station will be operational in 2025. Airbus launched the ZEROe project in 2020 to develop the world's first zero-emission commercial aircraft by 2035. Hydrogen fuel cells work by transforming the hydrogen into electricity through a chemical reaction. The by-product of the reaction is water vapour, resulting in almost zero emissions., by AIRBUS DEFENCE AND SPACE / SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY
