(September 13, 2014)
September 13, 2014, Tokyo, Japan - The sprawling hills of Yoshino Plum Garden overlooking Ome City, once covered with hundreds of plum trees, now is almost bare in this western suburbs of Tokyo on September 13, 2014. A total of 1,260 plum trees in some 80 varieties infected with Plum pox virus was cut down to keep the disease from spreading beyond the boundaries of the garden, the symbol of the city, on March 25, 2014.
