Gorgeous and gorgeous floats compete

The Kawagoe Festival is Koedo-Kawagoe's liveliest event of the year which displays spectacular festival floats pulled around the center of traditional town as a reproduction of the "Edo Tenka Matsuri" festival. The main event "Hikkawase" is the competition of a Hayashi performance (a traditional Japanese orchestra comprised of flutes, drums, handbells and dancing) playing face to face each other. The event is held for two days on the 3rd Saturday and Sunday of October. (Photo by Rodrigo Reyes Marin/AFLO)
