Japan's First Jet Passenger Plane
First public showing of the "MRJ
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. and its subsidiary Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation held a rollout ceremony for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ), the first domestically produced small jet airliner, on April 18. This is the first domestically produced passenger plane in half a century, since the YS-11, the first propeller-driven passenger plane after World War II. The aircraft will undergo further ground tests and is scheduled to make its first flight between April and June 2015.
