The Crown Prince and Princess of Great Britain visit Japan

The Crown Prince and Princess of Wales meet with Ozeki Onokuni and Sekiwake Konishiki after watching sumo at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo. They arrived in Japan on a special flight from Canada to Osaka Airport. The couple stayed in Kyoto until May 10, and after enjoying the "fresh green of the ancient capital," they flew to Tokyo, where they met with His Majesty the Emperor, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister Nakasone, and others until May 13, and attended a number of Anglo-Japanese goodwill events, including a visit to the Diet, a Kabuki tour, and a dinner party at the Imperial Palace. Prince Charles and Princess Diana chat with Ozeki Onokuni and Sekiwake Konishiki after watching sumo at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on the evening of May 11. During the meeting, Princess Diana poked Konishiki in the stomach with her finger, an incident that occurred on May 11, 1986 at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Sumida-ku, Tokyo.
