October 28, 2013, Kawaguchi, Japan - Molten iron is poured to a bucket and then into sand molds flying sparks at an iron foundry in Kawaguchi, a long-established fundry town just north of Tokyo on the northern bank of Arakawa River. There are more than 100 foundries in the area, making use of advanced casting technology and skills to produce high-added-value cast products to support the foundations of Japan's advanced technology industry.
