Japan's first full-scale Shunga exhibition
to be held in September
Tadashi Kobayashi, chairman of International UKIYO-E Society, chairman of Okada Museum, and chief editor of Shuka (art magazine) speaks to the audience during a press conference to promote ''Shunga'', an exhibition of Japanese erotic art, at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan on May 21, 2015, Tokyo, Japan. The exhibition is organized with the collaboration of museums in Japan, Britain and other European countries, and showcases 120 shunga paintings which will be displayed together for the first time. Shunga is a Japanese erotic art, which was produced between 1600 and 1900, and continues to influence manga, anime and Japanese tattoo art.
