Demand for Injunction on TPP Negotiations
Former Agriculture Minister Yamada and Others File Lawsuit
Masahiko Yamada, former Agriculture Minister and Attorney at Law, speaks during a press conference at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan (FCCJ) on June 2, 2015, Tokyo, Japan. Yamada, accompanied by Koiji Iwatsuki (Attorney at Law), spoke about the legal action against the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) free trade negotiations, which they said would lead to a collapse of Japanese agriculture and food self-sufficiency in the country. On May 15th, more than 1,063 people filed a lawsuit against the government for an injunction against the TPP trade negotiations, which they called unconstitutional. (Photo by Rodrigo Reyes Marin/AFLO)
