<KOUNOTORI will approach the ISS on the 24th, awaiting Yui's arrival.
<At 8:50 p.m. on August 19, the fifth H2B rocket carrying the KOUNOTORI-5, an unmanned cargo transporter to the International Space Station (ISS), was launched from the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture. KOUNOTORI entered its scheduled orbit around the Earth about 15 minutes later, and the launch was a success.
This was the first H2B launch since August 2013, and the fifth consecutive successful launch. KOUNOTORI will approach the ISS on the evening of the 24th, and Astronaut Kimiya Yui, 45, will catch KOUNOTORI with the robotic arm.
