The Japanese journalist's verdict hearing on "defamation charges" was held at the Seoul Central District Court on Thursday and he was acquitted of charges. According to media report, Kato wrote an article that President Park Geun-hye and her former adviser when she was a lawmaker, Jeong Yun-hoe had an alleged secret meeting on April 16, 2014 when the Sewol ferry sank off the southwest coast of South Korea, killing more than 300 people.
