Owari Daikokurei-jinja Shrine, Aichi, Japan Dedication of large mirror-shaped rice cake
February 19th, 2016, Inazawa, Japan - Chosen residents of Inazawa are getting ready to pull a platform with a giant rice cake on Friday, February 19, The huge rice cake will be offered to the deity of the shrine on the eve of an annual "Naked Man" festival. The so-called "mirror rice cake" consists of two round pieces, the smaller measuring 2.4 meters in diameter placed atop the larger measuring 2.5 meters in diameter. The overall weight of the cake is about 4 tones.
