DJI unveils its newest drone. New features including obstacle avoidance

Allen Wu, DJI Japan General Manager, introduces the new Phantom 4 that can dodge obstacles and track objects in Roppongi Hills, on March 3, 2016, Tokyo, Japan. DJI's new model integrates a set of stereo cameras and proximity sensors that work with a computer software vision, which allows the Phantom 4 to fly autonomously. The new generation drone includes two newly added features, the ActiveTrack to continuously record a moving object and TapFly that allows users to select waypoints by controlling their smartphone or tablet. The Phantom 4 includes an Obstacle Sensing System that allows avoiding obstacles and a smart battery that enables roughly 28 minutes of continuous flight while using the on-board 4K camera. Priced at 189,000JPN or approximately 1,400USD, the Phantom 4 is available for pre-order on its website and Apple.com. Apple retail stores will stock them starting March 15.
