Albino child
(Date of photograph unknown)
A young Albino Kosi girl. Albinism results in a lack of pigmentation in the eyes, skin and hair. It leads to numerous problems with sensitivity to light in the eyes and skin. The gene causing this condition prevents the body from making the usual amounts of a pigment called melanin. Photographed in Kosi Bay, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.
