The Issue of Britain's Exit from the European Union
Referendum soon
British European Union passports on June 23, 2016 in Tokyo, Japan. Voters in Great Britain and Northern Ireland go to the polls on Thursday 23rd June, 2016 to decide whether they want their country to leave or remain part of the European Union. The referendum ballot asks "Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union" and voters can choose between remain or leave on their slips. Opinion polls have seen both sides take the lead in recent weeks and the outcome of the referendum could go either way. Polling closes at 10pm across the UK on Thursday with ballots to be counted overnight. (Photo by AFLO)
