Tanabata Decorations at Narita Airport
Introducing Japanese Culture
Many colorful paper strips (Tanzaku) hang on bamboo stalks at Narita International Airport on July 7, 2016, Chiba, Japan. The yearly celebration of Tanabata has been held since the Edo era and commemorates the legend of two lovers separated by the Milky Way who only meet once a year on the seventh day of the seventh month.
