Grand Festival in Sawara, Chiba Prefecture (July 17, 2016)
The hairdo of a female participant at the Sawara Taisai, a traditional festival in the Japanese city of Katori, Chiba Prefecture. Held in July and October, the Sawara Taisai is one of three major Dashi Matsuri (float festivals) in the Kanto region. For three days, men in happi coats pull floats, featuring huge dolls of historical personages, through the streets of the city accompanied by traditional music.
