Rail and air flights are crowded
Passengers wait for their flights at Haneda Airport Terminal 2 on August 11, 2016, Tokyo, Japan. This year the Japanese government has introduced Mountain Day, a new bank holiday on August 11th, which falls at the start of the Obon Festival period. Many Japanese return to their hometowns in mid-August for Bon which is a traditional festival where the souls of dead relatives return to the family home.
