Comet Club," a cleaning unit that appeared with the opening of the JR Tohoku and Joetsu Shinkansen lines in Tokyo
In an effort to clean up the image of train cleaning, the "Comet Club," a cleaning squad made up entirely of young women around 20 years old, was assembled on the occasion of the opening of the JR Tohoku and Joetsu Shinkansen lines in Tokyo. Culottes on the Tohoku Shinkansen platform at JR Tokyo Station, April 20, 1991. The photo was taken on April 20, 1991 and published in the evening edition of May 8 of the same year.
