From Caticlan, I took a small fishing boat called a banca to my destination, Boracay Island, which took about 20 minutes to reach. Eighty percent of the tourists on Boracay are Westerners. The remaining 10% are local Filipinos, and there are hardly any Japanese in sight. The twilight, clearly silhouetted against the crimson palm leaves of the western sky, is very moving.
