New National Stadium Construction Site

The new stadium designed by Kengo Kuma is projected to cost $1.47 billion and construction has been delayed by design changes and attempts to prevent the budget for the Games spiraling out of hand. The Japanese government finally approved the a budget of $1.5 billion for the project at the end of September and construction is now expected to take three years concluding in November 2019.
