The beautiful coral reefs of the sea in Ako. The former Ako Elementary and Junior High School on Miyakejima Island, which remains in ruins. The school along the coast appears to have held back the lava that flowed down from the mountainside. The coral reefs popular with divers were located just below the school. On Miyakejima Island, Tokyo, photographed in August 1992. (Published in the morning edition of the same month, August 12, 1992 [Island Hitori Natsu].
