China's tourism authority has called for a boycott of the Japanese hotel chain due to controversy over a book written by the hotel's CEO, Toshio Motoya, which has been placed in hotel rooms and includes passages denying Japanese wartime atrocities in the Chinese city of Nanjing. As China prepares to celebrate the New Year many Chinese visitors are expected in Japan and the hotel chain is one of a number benefitting from a massive boom in inbound tourism.
