Colombian Kidnappings The public relations office at Toshiba headquarters is busy responding to the situation. On August 27, two Toshiba engineers were kidnapped by guerrillas believed to be revolutionary armed forces in San Carlos, Antioquia, northwestern Colombia. On the morning of August 29, a task force headed by Kinichi Kadono, vice president of Toshiba Corporation, was set up at Toshiba headquarters to dispatch employees to the site.
