Eco-Points registration
エコポイント登録始まる = Customers get information about “eco-points” from a sales clerk at an appliances store in Tokyo on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, as the Japanese government begins accepting registration from consumers. Under the system, those who buy designated energy-saving appliances are eligible for the points, which can be exchanged for merchandize coupons, electronic money and other items of choice. The government expects the program to boost consumption amid the summer bonus season.
