Robert Boyle
Robert Boyle - Robert Boyle, Irish-born chemist and physicist, (1833). After attending school at Eton, Boyle (1627-1691), the seventh son of the 1st Earl of Cork, spent six years in Europe. In 1662 he formulated Boyle's Law that In 1668 he moved to London and devoted much time to science and the Royal Society. Boyle's many experiments on air, vacuum, combustion, and respiration led to the publication in 1661 of his The Sceptical Chymist.(Photo by Imagestate/AFLO)[0902].
