Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko visit the Parliament Buildings in Victoria, British Columbia on their 12-day State Visit to Canada on July 12, 2009. The Japanese royalty are the worlds only remaining emperor and empress and were given a warm welcome as hundreds of onlookers cheered while they shook peoples hands as they walked down the main lawn of the Capital city's legislature. The couples visit to Victoria ends Sunday afternoon before moving on to Vancouver. It is Emperor Akihito's first visit to Canada since 1953. (Photo by Mikey Anthony/AFLO) [1135]
