La Cometa, an Italian restaurant in Azabu-juban, Minato-ku, was opened eight years ago by Junji Ayuda, 38, who studied classical Italian cuisine for three years at the National Hotel School in Rome. He serves simple, subtly flavored Italian cuisine. Photo taken April 28, 1989, in Azabu-juban. The restaurant was featured in the May 29 edition of "Aji no Saboro" (Taste of Italy) of the morning newspaper "Pipulu" (May 29, 1989).
