Fans line up for tickets to hear Imai's first trial.
On the afternoon of May 5, the 9th Criminal Division of the Tokyo District Court held the first trial in the case of Hisashi Imai, 23, a guitarist in the popular young rock band BUCK-TICK, who was accused of violating the Narcotics Control Law by receiving the hallucinogenic drug LSD from a friend. At his arraignment, Imai fully admitted the facts of the indictment and stated in a question to the defendant, "I deeply regret this and will never cause such an incident again. The prosecution concluded the hearing by stating that the defendant "has led an extremely licentious life and must be severely punished," and requested a sentence of six months in prison. At the Tokyo District Court, June 5, 1989.
