Prime Minister Abe visits the U.S. and meets with President Trump

The same month, on April 18, the evening edition of "Abductions Raised at U.S.-North Korea Meeting, Trump Promises Prime Minister, Willing to 'End War' in Korean War" was published. The Japan-U.S. summit meeting between Prime Minister Abe and U.S. President Trump took place at Trump's Mar-a-Lago villa. The two leaders confirmed their collaboration against North Korea, and Trump promised the Prime Minister to raise the issue of the Japanese abductions at the U.S.-North Korea summit scheduled to be held. Trump made it clear that the U.S. and North Korea are discussing the issue at an extremely high level and expressed his willingness to "end" the Korean War, which has been in a state of truce.
