Sweetness of natural ice
Natural ice is cut early in the morning from a pond at the foot of Hodo Mountain in Nagatoro, Saitama. This is the traditional method used by Azaami Reizo, an ice warehouse established in 1891. It has a unique sweetness and is sold mainly as shaved ice. In recent years, the amount of ice has been decreasing, and there are concerns about whether the same ice can be produced 10 years from now. Global warming?
