Eighty-nine elderly South Koreans crossed the Demilitarized Zone separating the two Koreas on August 20 to meet their North Korean relatives for the first time since they were mostly separated by the 1950-53 Korean War, during a three-day inter-Korean family reunion. The two Koreas have held 20 rounds of family reunions since the first-ever inter-Korean summit in 2000. About 57,000 South Koreans in their 70s or older are waiting to see their family members who might be living in North Korea, local media reported. Picture taken on August 22, 2018.
