Eighty-nine elderly South Koreans crossed the Demilitarized Zone separating the two Koreas on August 20 to meet their North Korean relatives for the first time since they were mostly separated by the 1950-53 Korean War, during a three-day inter-Korean family reunion. The two Koreas have held 20 rounds of family reunions since the first-ever inter-Korean summit in 2000.
