Bullet marks on the Jeonil Building, April 20, 2024 : Numbers of bullet marks discovered on the wall of the Jeonil Building are seen in Gwangju in South Jeolla Province, about 330 km (205 miles) south of Seoul, South Korea. The bullet marks are known to be a result of army helicopter strafing at citizens during then army general Chun Doo-Hwan-led military crackdown on the 1980 pro-democracy uprising in Gwangju. The Jeonil Building located just across from the South Jeolla provincial government building which was then the base of citizen soldiers. After the bloody military crackdown, Chun Doo-Hwan served as the 11th and 12th President of Korea from 1980-1988. (Photo by Lee Jae-Won/AFLO)
